Researchers say
music is linked to brain's sex response Medical researchers say melodies can stimulate the same parts of the brain as food and sex. The US and Canadian team used scanners to find out which parts of the brain react to 'spine-tingling' tunes. They found many of the brain structures associated with the orgasm response also react to the music. Previous studies have linked the midbrain, the ventral striatum and parts of the cortex, to sex and food. The new study clearly shows a similar response in these areas to the musical sounds chosen by the test subjects. |

Couple's
sex game sparks police alert
A couple acting out a sexual fantasy sparked a police alert in Denmark. A witness saw a blindfolded woman being dragged into a forest by a man and called the police. Six police patrol cars and a motorcycle were sent out. When officers arrived they found the woman was involved in a sex game with her partner. The Berligske Tidende newspaper reports officers found the couple enjoying themselves behind some bushes, although they were clothed when police arrived. The couple explained their sex game involved pretending the woman was surprised by the man in the forest. |

BBC to make film about
nun's sex life THE BBC is making an £18m film containing explicit sex scenes between a monk and a nun in 15th-century Italy. The Assumption of the Virgin, which will be unveiled this week at the Cannes film festival, stars Juliette Binoche, the French actress, as a nun who bears a monk's child after falling in love with him. Many cinemagoers are likely to be shocked by the scenes of forbidden sex. The film is about the genuine affair between Filippo Lippi, a monk who was also a leading Renaissance painter, and Lucrezia, the model for his Assumption of the Virgin ceiling, who later became his lover. The actual ceiling is in a church in Spoleto, north of Rome. |

No libel in lookalike
porn advert photo
When Kerry O'Shea's friends opened the Sunday Mirror on five occasions last summer, they were surprised to see what appeared to be her latest career move. An advertisement for an adults-only website had a picture of a woman holding a telephone who, Ms O'Shea believed, looked uncannily like her. But a judge at the high court ruled yesterday that the possible confusion between "Miss E", a well-known glamour model who posed for the photograph, and Ms O'Shea, who had nothing to do with it, did not amount to a libel, despite Ms O'Shea's argument that her friends had seen the picture and believed she was working as an online porn model. |

New drug could be
better than Viagra
A new drug now in development may be even better than Viagra. Scientists testing the effectiveness of Cialis say it seems to work quicker and last longer. Separate studies have shown a single pill gave an erection within 16 minutes and at least one more 24 hours later. Viagra's manufacturer, Pfizer Inc, currently recommends it is taken about an hour before sex. Doctors were able to measure patients' responses to Cialis by using a Rigiscan which reads the firmness and duration of an erection |

Sky TV is advising couples how to spice up their sex lives in a new documentary series. Hotter Sex will feature sex expert Tracey Cox giving advice to specially chosen couples. The eight-part series will be shown from July. A Sky TV spokesman said: "In addition to giving the couples directions on how to improve the physical aspect of their relationship, she will expect them to complete their sexual 'homework'. "This part of the series will include graphic descriptions of sensual massage courses, fantasy role playing and making body maps of their 'hot' spots. We have also arranged for them to shop on-line at SexToyz.co.uk to pick up any needed essentials!! Cox said: "This is an extraordinary sex program that's quite shocking but not in the usual sense. We've all seen shows on kinky couples who dabble in things like swinging and fetish clubs. "But this show features everyday couples, just like you and me, who've opened their doors to our film crew to tell exactly what they get up to and why." A senior Sky source said: "We aren't into sensationalism, even if that's what we stand accused of. The sex act itself will not be shown." |
